Ursula is a NYC born artist, designer and writer who examines themes of isolation,
confession and connection in her work. Working in a variety of media including photography,
printmaking, and comic-inspired illustrations, she aims to create a narrative experience
within all of her projects that plays with the boundaries between what is conceived as
private or intimate and what is seen as mundane and public. She does so by creating vignettes
that focus in on the little moments when a person’s private life and inner world
become one with their environment.
In addition to her personal explorations as an artist, Ursula freelances as a designer and curator.
She enjoys working with other creative people and turning ideas into tangible reality.
Most recently she has worked as the Curator and Webmistress for up and coming alternative Brooklyn
art space, The Gowanus Ballroom. At the Gowanus Ballroom, Ursula was part of a small team that
brought together large scale art and performance events that included up to 70 or so participants-
temporarily turning a warehouse space in the Gowanus area of Brooklyn into an artists wonderland.
Ursula has also worked as the Senior Designer for New York music magazine The Deli since 2008,
and freelances as a web and print designer.
Ursula is the co-founder of Ordered Chaos Design Studio, a small studio that offers affordable design
and branding solutions to fellow members of the creative communities.
EDUCATION: Ursula received her BFA from Parsons The New School for Design in 2007,
where she studied illustration, fine arts, and design for web and print publications. In 2012
she will receive her second bachelors degree in psychology from CUNY Hunter College.
